29-year-old woman fatally struck by truck in Bushwick

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A woman was fatally struck by a box truck while crossing the street in Bushwick on Friday morning, police say.

Jenny Maribel Chacho Sanchez, 29, was using a crosswalk to cross Gates Avenue just before 8:30 a.m. when she was struck by a 2024 Freightliner being driven by a 49-year-old man, investigators say.

Chacho Sanchez was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced deceased.

There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
