INWOOD, Manhattan (WABC) -- A pedestrian and two others people were hurt in a two-car crash in Inwood on Thursday morning and police are investigating if one or both of the cars were drag racing.

Investigators said a Corvette was speeding east on Sherman Avenue when it collided with a Mercedes-Benz at West 204th Street.

The Corvette then struck a 34-year-old pedestrian before coming to rest alongside a building.

Police said the Mercedes-Benz then struck a parked, unoccupied moped. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz got out of the vehicle and fled. That person is being sought.

The driver and a passenger in the Corvette were taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition. The pedestrian was also taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

Authorities say they are now investigating whether one or both vehicles were drag racing before the crash.

Police closed the intersection during their investigation.
