Officers responded to a residence on East Avenue around 4:47 p.m. on Wednesday for a reported dog bite incident.
When they arrived, they found the woman with multiple lacerations to different parts of her body. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition, police said.
The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit responded to the scene and secured the dogs. Town of Hempstead Animal Control officers also responded and removed the animals.
Police have not released additional details about what led up to the attack. The incident remains under investigation.
