BAYCHESTER, Bronx (WABC) -- A 37-year-old man was shot in his left leg and robbed of his gold chain at a gas station on Bartow Avenue in the Baychester section of the Bronx early Monday morning, according to police.

EMS rushed the victim to a local hospital, and he's listed in stable condition.

Police blocked the area off to investigate.

Eyewitness News spoke with Zak Amin, a gas station attendant who witnessed the crime and was visibly shaken.

The victim "was fixing his tire for almost half an hour," Amin said: "I just heard the sound of the shooting, and then I see from that side, and that's it after that -- they just run away."

Right now police are searching for two men who fled in a black vehicle. One of the men was wearing a green vest.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with any information is urged to call police right away.
