OMNY to replace MetroCards on all Bee-Line buses in Westchester County

Tuesday, December 30, 2025
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, New York (WABC) -- OMNY cards will replace MetroCards on all Bee-Line buses in Westchester County on Jan. 4 -- and it will come at a price.

The switch includes a 25-cent base fare increase on Bee-Line buses, from $2.75 to $3, aligning Bee-Line fares with MTA across the board.

Riders on all 64 routes can pay with smartphones, credit cards or purchase a physical OMNY card for $5 which can then be reloaded.

That will allow riders to continue to have free transfers between Bee Line and the MTA system, and benefit from the OMNY card $35 seven-day fare cap for unlimited trips.

Seniors and riders enrolled in reduced-fare programs will see their fares increase 15 cents, and will continue to receive additional discounts.

MetroCards will still be accepted during a transition period into the new year, although MTA is ending sales Dec. 31 and cards will not be reloadable after that.

Coins will still be accepted on all Bee-Line buses, and the system will soon also accept dollar bills.
