JERSEY CITY, New Jersey (WABC) -- Body camera footage shows the moments Hoboken rescue teams pulled a man to safety after he fell down Palisades Cliff in Jersey City.

A woman called police to report her dad was missing and she used an AirTag to track him to the bottom of a hill next to train tracks.

The Hoboken Fire Department responded at 8:35 a.m. on Friday after the man fell down the cliff just south of the Ninth Street Light Rail elevator.

The man apparently fell about 25 feet below street level on the Hoboken-Jersey City border.

He was injured and had been exposed to freezing temperatures for hours.

The fire department conducted a high-angle rope rescue operation with the assistance with the New Jersey Transit Police Department's Emergency Service Unit.

They put the man in a stokes basket and lifted him safely to Paterson Plank Road in Jersey City.

Officers Erd and Gawin say they train extensively for these kinds of rescues and as recently as a few weeks ago.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
