STARRETT CITY, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A former employee is under arrest and charged in the murder of a current employee at an IHOP restaurant in Brooklyn.

Wilber Salazar Rios, 44, is charged with murder in connection to the Friday night stabbing in Starrett City.

The 67-year-old victim, Hector Reinoso-Perez, who worked as a cleaner at the restaurant, was followed into the bathroom by the suspect.

That is when Reinoso-Perez was stabbed in the torso.

Another employee, said to be 41 years old, was also injured. That employee apparently heard the commotion in the bathroom and got into a scuffle with Rios before getting slashed in the hand.

Rios was taken into custody after the attack. He also faces a charge of assault with intent to cause serious physical injury.

He has no prior criminal record.

"We are aware of the tragic incident that took place at our Flatlands, Brooklyn location in which one of our team members passed following a physical altercation. Our thoughts are with the loved ones of our team member, as well as with the entire team at this location. We are cooperating fully with the local law enforcement investigation. The safety of our team members and guests is our number one priority," said IHOP franchisee Bernardo DeJesus.
