Mother charged after 1-month-old baby boy found dead in duffel bag inside Flatbush apartment

FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A mother has been charged after her one-month-old baby boy was found dead in a bag inside their home in Brooklyn.

Police responded to the family's apartment on Veronica Place in Flatbush after the infant's grandmother called 911 for a wellness check just after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Responding officers found the infant, Adonnys Kendall, in a duffel bag in the closet of the apartment. First responders pronounced the baby boy dead at the scene.

Gynae Kendall, 25, is now charged with concealment of a human corpse following the discovery.

The medical examiner will determine the infant's cause of death and how long he was dead.
