NEW YORK (WABC) -- "Cake Boss" star Buddy Valastro was arraigned Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated.

Valastro's license was suspended for 90 days and he was fined $300. He was just over the legal blood alcohol limit at .09.

According to the New York City Police Department, Valastro, 37, was pulled over in his 2014 yellow Corvette around 1 a.m. on 10th Avenue.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated after failing a field sobriety test and will be arraigned Thursday, police said.

Valastro, known as the "Cake Boss," is a bakery owner based in Hoboken with six other locations. He stars in a reality show, "Cake Boss", based on his business that airs on TLC.

According to the assistant district attorney in court, Valastro told officers during the stop, "I had a couple drinks", "You can't arrest me I'm the cake boss!", and insisted to officers several times, "I'm a good guy".

Valastro pleaded not guilty at the arraignment.

Buddy Valastro released a statement Thursday evening saying: "To all my family, friends, fans and supporters, please know that I want to share and explain to you what happened today and I look forward to doing so at a later date. I appreciate your support and understanding as we handle things privately as a family."
