"Chad Powers" is returning for a second season, and star Glen Powell says viewers can expect a more intense story as the show's characters face higher stakes.

"Season two was always something we were excited about because there's so much to establish in season one, and I feel like we did such a great job of doing that in terms of this cast and characters and the comedy and building the lie," Powell told On The Red Carpet's Rocsi Diaz. "Season 2, I feel like really delivers on the intensity. The stakes are higher, the performances are more dialed in and I'm really proud of this season."

The season follows Powell's character, disgraced college quarterback Russ Holliday, who continues posing as standout player Chad Powers as the South Georgia Catfish move closer to a national championship.

Other cast members echoed Powell's enthusiasm about the new episodes and the evolving storylines.

"I don't think I've ever been involved with something like this that can go to so many different places," Zahn said. "You know it straddles all these lines of absurdity and realism."

"I mean, the show just got so much more insane and deeper and crazier," added Perry Mattfeld. "I feel this season was just like ok, we're all in it together and just go with it."

Sounds like viewers are in for quite a ride.

Season two of "Chad Powers" is streaming now on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
