The NYPD is investigating the vandalism incidents.
Red paint could be seen sprayed around one of the consulate's entrances in one image.
New York City Council Members Phil Wong (D-Queens), Virginia Maloney (D-Manhattan), Lincoln Restler (D-Brooklyn), Harvey Epstein (D-Manhattan), and Frank Morano (R-Staten Island) reacted to the vandalism in a statement:
"We are deeply disturbed by the repeated vandalism of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York. The fact that this diplomatic mission was targeted twice in just three days is unacceptable and demands a swift response from law enforcement. Poland is one of America's closest allies, and Polish Americans have made invaluable contributions to New York City's neighborhoods, institutions, and civic life.
As elected officials representing districts with proud Polish-American communities, and in the case of Council Member Virginia Maloney, the district that is home to the Consulate itself, we stand firmly with the Consulate General, its staff, and the broader Polish-American community. These acts are an attack on a diplomatic institution and the values of mutual respect and international friendship.
We are in contact with Consul General Mateusz Sakowicz and the NYPD and are working to ensure these incidents are fully investigated and those responsible are held accountable. The people of Poland and the Polish-American community have always stood with New York, and today we stand with them."
