NewsCopter 7 was over the scene where the whale could be seen in the sand.
The Marine Mammal Stranding Center said it received a report that the whale washed ashore just after 8 a.m.
The whale was identified as a Humpback whale measuring approximately 30 feet in length.
There is no word on how it died.
It comes less than a week after another whale washed ashore on Rockaway Beach in Queens.
Officials determined that whale was hit by a boat.
