Deer falls from Garden State Parkway overpass, trapping driver inside car

PARAMUS, New Jersey (WABC) -- A deer fell from a New Jersey overpass on Tuesday night, striking a vehicle and trapping a woman inside her car.

The 44-year-old woman was driving northbound in the right lane of Paramus Road when a deer suddenly fell from the Garden State Parkway overpass.

It crashed into her Hyundai Tucson and impacted the driver side door, leaving the woman trapped inside.

With the help of the Paramus Police Department, the woman was able to safely get herself out of the vehicle.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and will be OK.



No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The deer was found dead at the scene.
