The dedication took place at East 112th Street and Park Avenue.
The legendary pianist and bandleader who helped revolutionize salsa died last August.
He was born in Harlem and raised in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents.
His family says his brother Charlie was his mentor and now both of their names are immortalized on the same street.
Over his decades long career, Palmieri won eight Grammy awards.
