Man killed in apparent road rage shooting in East New York, Brooklyn; manhunt underway

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A manhunt is underway for the gunman who fatally shot a man in East New York late Friday night in what police say stemmed from a road rage incident.

The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. near 899 Crescent St., close to Stanley Avenue.

Police responding to a 911 call found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and torso.

EMS rushed the victim, who was in critical condition, to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have not released details about what led up to the shooting.



The NYPD Crime Scene Unit spent several hours at the scene overnight searching for evidence.

At least half a dozen evidence markers were visible along Crescent St. as investigators worked to piece together what happened.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
