The incident happened just before 8 p.m. last Friday at a home on Emily Avenue in Elmont.
According to detectives, three unknown male suspects entered the residence through a side door, with two of them wearing what appeared to be UPS uniforms.
One suspect went into a first-floor back room and tied the hands of two victims, ages 8 and 15, while the second went upstairs and encountered two more victims, ages 25 and 39.
Police say the suspects demanded money, and when the victims' stated they didn't have any, the third suspect began searching the bedrooms while the other two went to the basement with the 25-year-old male victim.
There, they encountered a fifth victim, age 21, and demanded money.
When that victim refused, he was tasered in the back.
The suspects then took an undetermined amount of cash, jewelry and a cell phone before fleeing the scene.
The first suspect is described as a black males, approximately 6-foot-2, wearing what appeared to be a UPS uniform with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath. Police say he displayed a black handgun.
The second suspect is also a black male, in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-8 and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing what appeared to be a UPS uniform and also displayed a black handgun.
The third suspect is described as a black male, 5-foot-8 and 200 pounds, in his 20s, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and red and green LeBron sneakers.
The victims refused medical assistance at the scene.
