The oysters were distributed to restaurants and retailers in 10 states, including New York.
The FDA said the raw oysters are from Stellar Bay Shellfish in Canada.
The recall covers Kusshi, Chrome Point, Stellar Bay and Stellar Bay Gold brand oysters.
Officials say they were harvested in the British Columbia area between Dec. 22 and Feb. 4.
A health alert was issued after illnesses were reported in Washington state.
The most common symptoms of norovirus are diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and stomach pain. Other symptoms include fever, headache, and body ache.
