2 firefighters injured battling 2-alarm fire at building in Astoria, Queens

ASTORIA, Queens (WABC) -- Two firefighters were injured while battling a fire in Astoria, Queens on Monday, according to officials.

The FDNY said the two-alarm fire broke out at a two-story building located at 18-32 Steinway Street just before 7 p.m.



Crews responded to the scene and found fire on the roof of the building.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while fighting the flames, and were taken too Elmhurst Hospital.



The fire was placed under control around 8:20 p.m.


The cause remains under investigation.
