JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens (WABC) -- It's the second week of pride celebrations across New York City.

Eyewitness News was in Queens Sunday for the Pride Parade in Jackson Heights.

This year, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch plans to march with members of the Gay Officers Action League. It comes after organizers of New York City's Pride March once again banned officers from marching in their police uniforms.

The policy is being criticized by some LGBT law enforcement groups.

The parade kicked off at 37th Avenue and 89th Street at noon and lasts until 6 p.m.

FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore served as one of the grand marshals for the 34th annual event.
