Firefighter, resident injured after 3-alarm fire breaks out at West Brighton, Staten Island home

WEST BRIGHTON, Staten Island (WABC) -- Flames shot through the roof of a West Brighton, Staten Island home overnight.

Firefighters raced to a home on Bard Avenue around 1:14 a.m.

192 fire and emergency personnel responded to the scene.

The fire escalated to a second alarm, then to a third.

Flames seared the first and second floors and could be seen burning through the attic roof.



One firefighter and a resident suffered minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
