While chatting with On The Red Carpet, Carter explained his desire for sharing a director's cut. "This is the reason I went back and did a director's cut: I felt it really didn't get seen by a wide audience. 'X-Files' fans went to see it. Bless their hearts. Once we had to cut the movie back to get a rating, to get a PG-13 rating, I feel like the movie wasn't the movie we set out to make," he said.
"The X-Files" fans are in for a treat according to Carter, "I hope that I could give the hardcore 'X-Files' audience who may have seen the movie originally, two hours of great entertainment."
Billy Connolly, plays Father Joseph Crissman in the film, a former priest claiming to be receiving psychic visions. "Billy Connolly was inspirational for the character. I felt he could play a character who was tormented by his compulsion and as it collided with his faith," Carter shared.
