3. For sports fans, the 2026 World Cup Host Committee is bringing the action to several neighborhoods. Check out the fan zone at SIUH Community Park in Staten Island for free, family-oriented match viewings.
4. Speaking of Staten Island, the Staten Island Zoo offers free admission on Wednesday afternoons. It's a chance for kids to see everything from porcupines to alpacas.
5. In the Bronx, the Bronx Museum is free every day for everyone. This community staple focuses on contemporary art from historically marginalized artists and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
6. For a very green getaway out of the city, head to Clark Botanic Garden in Albertson, Long Island. A 10-acre, vibrant and lush oasis that is free to the public year-round.
7. Or head north to Muscoot Farm in Somers. This interactive farm features cows, pigs and sheep, plus 7 miles of hiking trails. There's also a popular farmers market every Sunday.
