Freeport man charged with using 13-year-old daughter in drug sale scheme

FREEPORT, New York (WABC) -- A Freeport man is due in court Tuesday after allegedly using his 13-year-old daughter to sell drugs.

Nassau County police say Julio Enmanuel Pena, 39, arranged to sell cocaine to a customer and had his 13-year-old daughter complete the transaction.

After an investigation, Pena was arrested at his home at 12:40 p.m. Monday.

Additional substances believed to be cocaine were recovered during the arrest, police said.

Pena is charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, third degree; two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, third degree; conspiracy, third degree; use of a child to commit a controlled substance offense; and endangering the welfare of a child.



He is set to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
