Frozen vegetables sold in NY, NJ and CT recalled due to listeria concerns

Friday, September 5, 2025
NEW YORK (WABC) -- Endico Potatoes Inc. is recalling "Peas and Carrots" and "Mixed Vegetables" frozen vegetable bags after potential listeria contamination.

They were distributed in several states between July 18 and August. Those states include New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland and Florida, as well as Washington D.C.

No illnesses related to the contamination have been reported at this time.

The State of Pennsylvania tested product samples and found them to be positive for Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and those with compromised or weakened immune systems.

Listeria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, and healthy individuals may still suffer from symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Endico has ceased distribution as they work with the FDA to discover the source of the contamination.

The lot code of the affected product (printed on the side of the bag) is:

--Peas and carrots: lot 110625, production date 6/11/25, use by date 6/10/27
--Mixed vegetables: lot 170625, production date 6/17/25, use by date 6/16/27

Endico urges customers who purchased either of the impacted products to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
