The truck had been in the eastbound lanes when it was blown into the westbound lanes on the outbound upper level around 9:15 p.m. The upper level was closed.

There were no injuries, no summonses were issued and all restrictions were lifted by 7 a.m. Thursday.
The driver of the truck is from Pennsylvania and was traveling from Punxsutawney, Pa.
Winds were at about 50 mph, and there was a tractor-trailer ban on the bridge Wednesday night because of the strong wind.
Bridge Operations confirmed that the tractor-trailer ban was on instituted after the truck overturned. The truck ban for the upper level of the George Washington Bridge was put into effect at around 9:40 p.m.
There were major backups through midnight Thursday morning.
