Updated 2 hours ago
CARLSTADT, New Jersey (WABC) -- Firefighters battled a large warehouse fire in Carlstadt, New Jersey, on Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 10 a.m. off Washington Avenue.

By noon, it seemed as though firefighters had gained the upper hand on the blaze.

The roof was gutted by the flames and at one point the smoke could be seen billowing into the sky from Manhattan.

Several companies operate out of the warehouse. It appears to belong to a company that sells upscale stone tiles and slabs.

So far, there is no word on what started the fire and no word on any injuries.
