Updated 12 minutes ago
NEW YORK (WABC) -- A Long Island Rail Road train struck debris in one of the East River tunnels following an earlier disabled NJ Transit train, causing disruptions to the morning commute.

Some LIRR customers were experiencing cancellations, reroutes and delays of their trains as a result of the incident.

The LIRR train involved arrived to Penn Station under its own power, where passengers were transferred to a rescue train and the original train would be examined.

Some trains were rerouted to Grand Central as the LIRR tended to the train at Penn Station.

No one was injured.
