Lucas' love for the prehistoric reptiles is so large; he even has dinosaur sneakers.
"Dinosaurs are his life. You could see as he walked up. He was getting into character as a T-Rex walking and looking with the roar. Dinosaurs are his life," said Lucas' dad, Devon Collins.
On Wednesday, Lucas, his mom, dad and brother all fly to Denver to search for dinosaur bones. That was Lucas' wish, fulfilled by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
"You're going to be going on a dinosaur journey to a museum, searching for dinosaur fossils," Dominique said.
Lucas has been a very busy 6-year-old, bravely battling leukemia while going for tests and chemotherapy. That's why all of his friends at the Learning Experience School raised money to send him on an unforgettable trip... but not before he was thrown a very cool party.
Lucas made his own dinosaur stuffed animal and hung out with a big dinosaur and danced with his friends and even ate his favorite food. His dad, who is active-duty Marine Corps said this means a lot.
"We've been battling this day-by-day, week-by-week," Collins said. "Two years ago, exactly, he was acting weird. We were packing to move, but we took him to the hospital, and he was diagnosed with leukemia. It's really changed our lives for the last two years."
Lucas is hoping he finds some T-Rex bones in Colorado.
