Man shot multiple times in Nyack; gunman remains at large

NYACK, Rockland County (WABC) -- A man was seriously injured in a shooting in Nyack early Sunday, according to the Orangetown Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired near Depew Avenue and South Franklin Street around 12:01 a.m. and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds near 403 Nyack Plaza. He was treated at the scene and transported to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police said the shooter fled before officers arrived, and a search of the area did not lead to an arrest.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
