MOTT HAVEN, Bronx (WABC) -- New York City police are searching for the person who shot and killed an elderly man in a wheelchair in the Bronx.

Police say 78-year-old Edgar Spence was sitting outside in his motorized wheelchair in a courtyard when he was struck in the torso.

It happened Thursday around 10:30 p.m. at the Mitchel Houses on Alexander Avenue.
