Worker injured after construction truck struck in SoHo hit and run

SOHO, Manhattan (WABC) -- A man working on a boom truck on West Houston Street in SoHo Monday morning was injured when his vehicle was struck by a hit-and-run driver operating a box truck.

The worker's construction vehicle was in the westbound lanes of West Houston Street near Thompson Street when the box-truck driver hit his truck at around 6 a.m.

The worker fell from the boom truck on impact.

The driver did not stop, and was last seen moving westbound, headed toward the Holland Tunnel.

The injured man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.



The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
