Martial arts instructor charged with sexually abusing young female students in Queens

CORONA, Queens (WABC) -- His job was to help teach martial arts to children, but now he's accused of sexually abusing and touching young female students in Queens.

26-year-old Lorenzo Ramos, formerly employed as a Tae Kwon Do instructor at United Taekwondo in Corona, has been charged with sexually abusing and forcibly touching four of his female students - two 12-year-olds and two 14-year-olds - at various times over the last 19 months.

Ramos is charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, one count of first-degree attempted sexual abuse, eight counts of forcible touching, two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, three counts of third-degree sexual abuse, four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and three counts of second-degree harassment.

Ramos, who faces up to seven years in prison and would be required to register as a sex offender with the state if convicted, was ordered held on a total of $31,000 bail.

He's due back in court on April 1, 2016.
