Employees arriving Thursday morning found extensive damage at Nissan 112. Workers said the suspects were so determined to steal cars that they totaled two other vehicles while forcing their way out through a front window.
"This is not what I wanted to come into at 7:15 in the morning this morning, not at all," dealership employee Kevin Buschor said.
Buschor said he is now helping clean up a gray Nissan that was totaled after thieves used a white BMW, which was also totaled, as a battering ram to push it out of the way. He said the Nissan had been positioned to help prevent another theft.
"So, you were literally using the Nissan to block the doors?" Eyewitness News reporter Stacey Sage said.
"It was just a block at the door... to stop them from stealing it because they drove through that bay door last time they stole a car," Buschor said.
According to Buschor, that earlier theft occurred about four weeks ago. Surveillance video from that incident showed one person in dark clothing running to steal a vehicle while another approached a Ring camera and blocked it.
The latest theft also affected at least one prospective buyer. Nick Drivas said he had just arrived from Florida to purchase the white BMW that was damaged during the incident.
"It's like a horror show," Drivas said. "Who could even believe such a thing could happen?"
When asked if he had arrived Wednesday to buy the car, Drivas replied: "Yeah, I came today... literally an hour ago."
Buschor said the thieves also appeared to have taken keys belonging to other vehicles at the dealership.
The incident left the dealership with two totaled vehicles, two stolen vehicles and keys to three other vehicles reported missing, according to employees.
No additional details were immediately available.
