MetroCards sold for thousands of dollars online days after discontinuation

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Now that you can no longer purchase MetroCards through the MTA, they are quickly becoming collector's items.

MetroCards can be found on sites like eBay for sale between $6 and $5,000.

Most of the listings are for the traditional blue and yellow cards, but one listing includes a set of four original MetroCards in unsealed packaging from its debut in 1994.

The set is listed for $100.
