Two students reported a man on the residential campus on Sept. 23 in South Nyack, N.Y.
On Oct. 2, the man was identified on surveillance footage inside several college buildings attempting to open locked doors at the campus center and men's dorm on Sept. 23.
The South Nyack Police Department investigated.
No property was stolen and no one was hurt.
College officials said in the statement that they don't think the man has returned to campus since September.
The man aroused some suspicion when he started asking questions on the soccer field.
"I think it's kind of scary," one student said, and who could blame her for feeling that way?
Police and college officials are trying to figure out who the man is, and among the places he was caught on surveillance camera entering was Christie Hall, a woman's dormitory.
"I think it's pretty scary that he could just get into our dorm like it was no problem," said student Alyssa Gatti.
Some students at a soccer game on Sept. 23 reported to security that a man had engaged them in suspicious conversation, specifically asking for the location of the women's dorm.
Later, a check of surveillance footage showed the individual trying to open doors around the campus, entering several unlocked buildings including the men's dormitory.
There is no evidence that anything was stolen.
