Wedded duo Ali Chetkof and Jeremy Rhodes swear that their stuffed bagels are more than just a trend, and can be enjoyed any time of day or night.
The two are bringing their bagels from Poughkeepsie to the bagel capital of the world: New York City
After getting rave reviews from their local community, the pair set shop in Greenwich Village.
"Moonrise Bagels is home of the original stuffed bagel ... we took a classic bagel, gave it a little twist. We stuff all of our bagels here with different comfort foods," Ali explains the bakery's concept.
During the pandemic, Jeremy was making pizza for dinner and bagels for brunch the next day. With pizza sauce left over, Jeremy decided to stuff a pizza inside a bagel.
"We produce all of these bagels by hand up in our commissary kitchen in Poughkeepsie ... we drive that product down here every night, we boil in lovely New York water here," Jeremy adds.
The crowd-favorite flavors are bacon egg and cheese, pastrami Reuben, buffalo chicken, and classic cheese pizza.
"Then we have three different dipping sauces that you can get on the side, to kind of take it up a notch," Jeremy recommends.
"We were completely overwhelmed by the reception. It really was more than our wildest dreams," Ali says.
