NEW ROCHELLE, New York (WABC) -- A mother from New Rochelle is under arrest after police say she abandoned her teenaged daughter in Pennsylvania.

It happened just after midnight at a Turkey Hill in Tannersville in Pocono Township.

Police say 42-year-old Toni Marie Barrett was driving back to New York with her 13-year-old daughter on Sunday morning when they stopped at a closed gas station to get directions through GPS.

They apparently got into an argument and officials say Barrett threatened to stab her daughter and then drove off -- leaving her at the closed gas station.

Officials say Barrett was contacted by police later that morning and she admitted to them that she didn't try to look for the teen or report her missing.

The teen is safe and the mother is now facing several charges, including endangering the welfare of a child and terroristic threats.
