Many city dwellers are sick of navigating around, and often stepping in, massive piles of dirty snow.
One New Yorker called the snow piles "very frustrating."
"We're just trying to get home like everybody else. I saw a gentleman who was in a wheelchair who I, you know, really felt badly for," she told Eyewitness News.
DSNY workers will haul snow piles to five locations around the city, one in each borough.
The snow will go into what are essentially giant hot tubs where it will melt.
These giant hot tubs can melt 240,000 pounds of snow every hour.
The melted snow will then enter the city's sewer system.
This is an enormous operation that will take some time, but it's definitely great news for anyone trying to navigate their way around the city.
