Ten years ago, the family adopted two kittens from a shelter.
But not long after, one of the cats named Asa escaped through a window.
Her family searched every day and put up signs with no luck and figured Asa was lost on the streets forever.
They eventually moved away to upstate New York but never forgot about Asa.
Now, a decade later, the now-full grown cat came strutting back into their lives.
A good Samaritan found the cat and brought it to the animal shelter to scan for a microchip.
Lo and behold there was a phone number registered and the shelter was able to find her family.
The family was ecstatic and immediately drove to the shelter to get their baby.
In celebration of the joyous reunion, the shelter is in desperate need of cat food donations to give to families who need help.
