MIDTOWN MANHATTAN (WABC) -- This week's Neighborhood Eats takes you to a Manhattan shop utilizing high-end techniques and flavors to make treats that are sure to leave customers with a sugar rush.

Romina Peixoto is the brains behind Sweet Graffiti, a pastry and confectionary bakery located on West 32nd Street and Broadway.

Previously, Peixoto was the pastry chef at powerhouse fine-dining restaurants including Eleven Madison Park and Le Cirque. Now, she's using her decades of experience to lead Sweet Graffiti.

"It's a blend of chocolates, cookies and ice creams. What had started as just a fun thing for maybe like a year or two ended up being 26 years of a lifestyle," she said.

Peixoto says she tries to draw global inspiration for the flavors and items on her menu.

"In the store, they're are things from, you know, very American. There are a lot of things from Latin American, there's French, there's Middle Eastern, there's everywhere," she said. "I feel like when you come here, you can still identify with a lot of things that you're particularly looking for."

Peixoto says she wanted to do something different with their cookies, including turning dishes that may normally be savory into something sweet.

"We decided that Pad Thai was one of people's favorite dishes, and I said, what if we just try to create that dish into a sweet type of dessert," she said.

If you want something cold, you can also order a Dubai chocolate-inspired sundae soft swerve, in addition to other treats like croissants, cupcakes and macarons.

One of Peixoto's favorite things on the menu are her bonbons.

"Creating bonbons is fun for me because you have to really be careful and have to do the filling. Anything you do, it has to be perfectly calculated for you to get the memory of whatever you want to resemble when you create that bonbon," Peixoto said.

In the end, Peixoto hopes customers at Sweet Graffiti walk away with a lasting impression.

"Everything that we have here is made with a lot of love and it shows," she said. "It's creative, it's well done, and we have unique flavors and things that people will remember."
