NYPD releases photo of suspect wanted in stabbing of man on No. 7 train in Queens

QUEENS, New York (WABC) -- Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect wanted in connection to a stabbing on a subway train in Queens.

The attack happened Sunday around 11:30 p.m. aboard a southbound No. 7 train.

Police say the victim, a 25-year-old man, was on the train when an unidentified individual approached him from behind and stabbed him multiple times in the back with an unknown sharp object.

The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to New York Presbyterian/Queens Hospital in critical condition.



Police are hoping the surveillance image of the alleged suspect will help them make an arrest.



They describe the suspect as a male, with a slim build, approximately 20 to 25 years old.

He was last seen wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with the word "Champion" written in white lettering, grey sweatpants and black sneakers.
