Sanitation workers find woman's torso inside garbage bag in Rosedale, Queens

QUEENS, New York (WABC) -- A woman's torso was found by sanitation workers inside a garbage bag in a Rosedale, Queens, park Monday morning.

Police say the remains were found discarded in Idlewild Park, near Brookville Boulevard and 149th Avenue, at around 8 a.m.

The sanitation workers loaded the remains, wrapped in a blue bag, into the garbage truck before noticing the smell, according to officials.

The cause of death is under investigation.
