NYPD looking for petit larceny suspect who escaped custody in Manhattan, police sources say

MANHATTAN (WABC) -- Police are investigating after a man escaped from police custody in Manhattan on Thursday afternoon.

Police said a 34-year-old man escaped custody while outside of NYU Langone Health around 7 p.m.

He was last seen around FDR Drive and East 30th Street, police said.

The suspect was in custody for petit larceny, police sources said.
