Officers responded to a 911 call of an assault around 1 a.m. near 104th Street and the Van Wyck Expressway service road.
When they arrived, police were informed that an unidentified man had been shot. EMS located the victim near 106th Street and the Van Wyck Expressway service road.
The man was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Police say two male suspects fled the scene on a scooter. A description of the suspects has not yet been provided.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
