New York Road Runners host panel discussion on leadership and women breaking barriers

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A proud moment for ABC 7 New York on Wednesday as WABC-TV President and General Manager Marilu Galvez was honored during a conversation about leadership and breaking barriers.

Hosted by the New York Road Runners, the "Beyond the Finish Line: Women Breaking Barriers" discussion featured a diverse panel of leaders from different industries.

Panelists, including Galvez, talked about striking a balance between their professional and personal lives and how to successfully lead by example.

"To be a good leader, you have to feel like you're a part of a team and encourage your friends, your partners. It's important that as a leader, you elevate," Galvez said.

During the conversation, Galvez also emphasized the importance of being honest and fair, and even having tough conversations.



All of these attributes, she says, will help create an exemplary product.
