Sundquist was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer when he was 9 years old and his left leg was amputated. Cancer-free since he was a teenager, Sundquist is now a best-selling author and motivational speaker. He has also been a member of the U.S. Paralympic Ski Team and is currently on the U.S. Amputee Soccer Team.

Over the past few years, Sundquist has begun sharing his creative Halloween costumes that play off his one leg. Sundquist has been a partially eaten gingerbread man, the leg lamp from A Christmas Story, a flamingo, a foosball player, and an IHOP sign. This year, he's going as Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast.
