63-year-old pedestrian struck and killed by school bus on Long Island

FLORAL PARK, Long Island (WABC) -- A pedestrian was killed after he was struck and killed by a school bus Wednesday morning on Long Island.

Witnesses say the man was walking in the crosswalk down Plainfield Avenue around 8 a.m. when the school bus was traveling down Magnolia Avenue.

The bus turned left to go onto Plainfield when the man was struck.

Police say there were no kids on the bus at the time.

The 63-year-old victim is from Floral Park but his identity is not yet known.



The 69-year-old driver of the bus remained at the scene.

It is not yet clear if charges will be filed.
