Search for man who broke into woman's Bushwick home before sexually abusing her

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police are searching for a man accused of breaking into a woman's home before sexually abusing her in Brooklyn.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Monday on Pilling Street and Evergreen Avenue in Bushwick.

Investigators say the suspect entered the victim's apartment through a kitchen window while the 43-year-old slept.

According to police, the victim desperately tried to fight the man off as he placed a pillow over her head, tied her wrists and made sexual advances.

Police say the man then stole her cellphone and watch then ran away.



The victim was taken to the hospital and was said to be stable.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white baseball cap and black sweatshirt.



Anyone with information is urged to call police immediately.
