According to an update from Mayor Christopher DiPiazza in Paramus, power "may not be fully restored until midweek."
"We understand this is difficult and appreciate your patience as PSEG works through the extensive damage," the city said in an emergency update.
The city says it's secured permission to use private access roads where needed to reach affected areas faster. It urged residents to stay away from live wires.
NJ Transit says all rail service is operating as scheduled "except for the Morris and Essex and Gladstone Branch Rail Lines, which remains suspended through the end of the service day today."
In New Jersey, there are currently over 92,000 customers without power.

In New York, there are over 67,755 people without power as of 2 p.m.

Nassau: 85
