75-year-old man slashed to death in dispute between neighbors in Astoria: sources

Police arrested 48-year-old Dimitrios Manessis for murder

ASTORIA, Queens (WABC) -- One person has been arrested after a dispute between neighbors led to the murder of a 75-year-old man in Queens on Tuesday, according to sources.

Police say George Dourdounas was found with a slashed neck inside his apartment building located at 25-75 33rd St. in Astoria around 1:40 p.m.

EMS responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police arrested 48-year-old Dimitrios Manessis hours later, and charged him with murder an criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.
